Muscat Int. Airport - Oman

The re-development of Oman's largest airport will result in one of the worlds most ultra-modern. The project comprises some 70 buildings apart from the terminal, including a control tower, an air traffic management centre, and a cargo terminal capable of 200,000 tons of freight annually. The 290,000m2 passenger terminal building, a grandiose structure incorporating a blend of modern international class airport design elements and Omani traditional motifs, stands between two parallel runways (one new / one existing) and has parking capacity for 6,000 cars. Consisting of departures, arrivals, transfers and duty free shopping arcades, restaurants, cafes, elegant lounges, it will boast 24-28 boarding air bridges, all of which are capable of handling new and existing code C-F aircraft. A separate VIP building to be used by high ranking dignitaries is located next to the terminal and an 80 bed airside hotel for transfer passengers is also envisaged. When complete, this first phase of a possible four will have the capacity to handle 12 million passengers per annum. Salalah Int. Airport - Oman

The new terminal, with a capacity to handle 1 million passengers & 100,000 tonnes of cargo annually will have 8 passenger boarding bridges, and parking for 1,900 vehicles. The existing 3,300m runway & taxiway system will be upgraded to accommodate aircraft types such as the Airbus A380. As with the Muscat Int. Airport project, Hurley Consulting are appointed as Costs & Contracts Managers to provide cost planning & control, procurement, negotiations, budget & cost reporting, risk analysis, contractual advice, pre-qualifications and all post-contract commercial matters.

Al Duqm Airport - Oman

Domestic Airport with 500,000 passengers annual capacity and 50,000 tonnes of cargo comprising 4 km long runway, air traffic control tower, 2 boarding bridges and parking for 300 vehicles. Engaged as Costs & Contracts Managers on all regional airport projects in Oman, our services include cost planning & control, procurement, negotiations, budget & cost reporting, risk analysis, contractual advice, pre-qualifications and all post-contract commercial matters.

Sohar Airport - Oman

The project includes a Passenger & Cargo Terminal, 4km runway, a separate Air Traffic Control Tower, Ground Service Equipment and Airport Maintenance Buildings, and a Fuel Farm with Fuel Hydrant System. Ras Al Hadd Airport - Oman

This Domestic airport will have a runway of 4 km in length and have a terminal capacity to handle 500,000 passengers annually. The facility will meet ICAO code F requirements and include associated taxi ways and apron systems. The building programme will include a new passenger terminal, combined services building, 6 aircraft stands and an air traffic control tower. As with all other Regional airports in Oman, Hurley Consulting are appointed as Costs & Contracts Managers to provide cost planning & control, procurement, negotiations, budget & cost reporting, risk analysis, contractual advice, pre-qualifications and all post-contract commercial matters.

Adam Airport - Oman

Domestic airport with 250,000 passengers annual capacity comprising: 4km long runway, runway turning pad, aprons for 3 aircraft and 4 helicopters, VVIP building, interim air traffic control facilities, meteorology office, general equipment workshop, aircraft handling & fire fighting services. Emirates Engineering Centre - UAE

Emirates Engineering Centre

The Emirates Engineering Centre is a specialised aviation maintenance facility designed and built to facilitate Emirates Airlines' existing fleet as well as their new order of Airbus A 380 Super-Jumbos. It is one of the largest aviation maintenance centres in the world, and certainly the most high-tech. The project covers an area of 55 hectares on the north side of Dubai International Airport and is valued in excess of AED 1.3 billion. The hangars dimensions ensure that it can accommodate all types of wide-bodied passenger jets, including the Airbus A380. The Centre has 7 fully air conditioned hangars for heavy and light maintenance, each 110m x 105m, plus 1 dedicated paint hangar - in total covering more than nine hectares in size.

From 2004 to 2007 Hurley Consulting were employed as Contracts Managers to provide specialist advice on the administration of the numerous contracts on the projects, as well as any contractor's claims for cost and extensions of time. Each hangar has a mezzanine docking system for access for aircraft, while three hangars are equipped with full fuselage docking systems designed for heavy maintenance. They also have the largest single free-spanning roof structures in the Middle East. In addition to its hangars, the development comprises an administration building with multi-storey car park, a mosque, a central power plant (with generators, centrifugal chillers and fire protection systems) and various roads, taxiways and aprons, as well as an engine run-up.

In 2005, we undertook the cost planning & tender documentation services in connection with five renovations / alterations contracts for ADPi at Abu Dhabi Int Airport. These works included refurbishing certain areas in the passenger terminal building including check-in and Duty Free and some external works.

Cargo Complexes - Muscat & Salalah Int Airports - Oman

These new complexes consist of a cargo facility, central utility plant, live animal centre, and various ancillary (security) buildings. The cargo projections are 260,000 tonnes annually, with facilities sized at 33,000m2.

MRO Centres - Muscat & Salalah Int. Airports - Oman

Designed for base and line aircraft maintenance to serve the national airline's growing fleet as well as 3rd party customers, each new centre will consist of two wide body Code F hangars, one two position Code C hangar, Ground Run-up Enclosure (GRE), technical shops, offices, central utility plant, and various ancillary buildings.

From 2004 to 2006 Hurley Consulting were appointed to provide specialist Cost & Contracts Management services on the design & construction of this installation specifically set-up to facilitate Emirates Airline Crew at their new operations centre located on the south side of Dubai International Airport. The installation consisted of the Departure process of Emirates Crew and Baggage (Level 1), Arrival process of Emirates Crew and Baggage (Level 2), and Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) areas (Level 0). Our Services included full pre- and post-contract duties such as cost planning, providing contractual advice, drafting conditions of contract, Bills of Quantities & preparation of tender documents, tendering, payment valuations & certificates, plus analyses & recommendations to the Engineer on claims, etc.
